Ihre Aufgaben: We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified researcher to join our team as a Scientist in Microbial Genomics. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research in microbial genomics with a focus on microbiome research with the following activities:

• Conduct cutting-edge research in microbial genomics, including the analysis of next-generation sequencing data to study the microbiome using16S rRNA and shotgun metagenomic sequencing, to analyze antimicrobial resistance, and pathogen genomics
• Analyze genomic data using existing bioinformatics tools and methodologies. Develop and implement bioinformatics pipelines for genomic data analysis
• Collaborate with clinical departments to apply genomic data to diagnostics, infection control, outbreak investigations and to advance understanding of microbial communities in clinical settings
• Contribute to scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and present research findings at conferences

Ihr Profil

• A completed Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics, Genomics, or a related field
• Strong background in bioinformatics, microbial genomics and next-generation sequencing analyses
• Proficiency in bioinformatics software and programming languages (e.g., Python, R), and experience with genomic data analysis tools
• Demonstrated experience in conducting research and publishing in peer-reviewed scientific journals
• Good communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team
• Knowledge of clinical microbiology and antimicrobial resistance is an advantage
